Heard Around the House

Emma, upon attempting to wipe melted fudgesicle off her face on the way to a parade, "Merciful Heavens! How can I get this off?!"


Emma, noticing a spiderweb, "I like your work, spider. I think I'll call you Polly."


"Is there poop? Is there ANY POOP anywhere?" Emma, whenever she enters a grassy place that has been visited by dogs or chickens. This comes from a trip to the beach when there was dog poop right in the middle of the trail and we kept saying, "Watch out for the poop," whenever we passed by.


"Are there sucker blooders in the water?" Emma asking if there were leeches in the swimming pool.


"God, please stop the rain. It's making me angry. And wet." Still raining. "Maybe if we stomp our feet and say rain, rain, go away, then God will make it stop." Emma trying to control the weather.


After listening to a song asking for God to give the singer his heart, hands, etc. figuratively, Emma asks, "Will God give him his humerus too?"


"Dah Dah." Jack saying dad.
"Da-aht." Jack saying that.
"I da-aht" Jack saying I want that.
"Ah duh." Jack saying all done.
"Mama." Jack saying mama.

Butter

Who loves butter? Emma, that's who. I went to the freezer to use our last cube of butter and this is what I found...

She said she did it the other day when our little friend Xavier was visiting and he and Jack both got tired and hungry at the same time. Ryan worked with Xavier and I worked with Jack, and well, what is one to do besides eat butter? Emma comes by this naturally. Two of her grandmothers eat butter, or at least did when they were little too.

Camping

Memorial Day weekend kicked off our camping "season" (can you really call 2-4 trips/year a season?). It was Jack's first trip to the Canal and first camping trip.

The following weekend, we were off to our friends' family cabin for some delicious food, beach walks, rock throwing, board games, swinging and some serious wiffle ball.

Sounders Game

Way back in May, we went to our first Sounders game at Century Link field. Ryan was given some suite tickets through work, so we had great seats and great food. We even got to park valet. Jack was so cute, one of guys gave him his Sounders scarf.
